How to create your very own small fairytale heart wicker wreath.
When a procrastinator is asked by a friend to make something for a craft market in aid of a good cause, the reply is “of course; no problem”. But as time creeps on and the deadline approaches, a familiar panic grips me: what will I take? I am forced to think fast with just days to go before ‘showtime’. My mind is racing. My throat is dry. I am forced to act.
Dashing to a wholesale florist for inspiration I find a basket of tangle wood hearts hidden between rows of ribbons and boxes of raffia – huzzah! They are pure enchanted forest of the Grimm’s Fairytale variety, and I can already see them twinkling and frost covered. Grabbing a box of bridal beads and blue ribbon I head home, ready to embellish.
Useful Tools:
Clematis handwoven heart
Glue gun
Beads of your choice (I used Multi-faceted bridal beads)
Wired beads (Mine were iridescence acrylic as above)
Ribbon
Brown florist tape
Wire cutters, tweezers or small pliers.
Glue on beads. I use long nose piers or tweezers for accuracy and to avoid hot glue finger burns. Secure wired acrylic beads to the center of heart by twisting and tucking ends back into structure, first.
using florist tape to make safe any sharp ends or to camouflage wires and neaten finish and tie ribbon in the center. Dangle from appropriate hook and enjoy.
It really is that simple.
